INTRODUCING CHL-TV

CAMP HIGHLIGHT'S WACKY WEBSHOW IS READY FOR ITS CLOSE UP

When the world went indoors in March 2020, it was difficult for our Camp Highlight families and campers. That year was wrought with feelings of detachment and separation. During our Intermission, we learned that connection in our camp community is more important than ever.

CHL-TV is a new digital series led by cast members and Camp Highlight summer counselors Parker, Phil, Shomari, and Joy. Once a month, the CHL-TV team will connect Highlighters and their families all over the nation in virtual fun and content! The team has created segments inspired by the spirit of Camp Highlight. From Weird Science to Arts and Crafts, to funny sketches and camp jokes. Highlight families can join in the fun by submitting their own funny videos and updates. CHL-TV is ready to bring the Camp Highlight experience to the comfort of your home!

Devon Bandison to design Leadership Academy curriculum

This year marks the beginning of the Camp Highlight Leadership Academy, a program for Camp Highlight graduates to practice and improve their skills in public speaking, facilitation, and organization. We were lucky enough to meet New York City native

Devon “the Connector” Bandison, a motivational speaker, author, and life coach.

Devon knows a lot about leadership training. For the past 15 years, he has been traveling the nation creating programs and giving talks on how to improve leadership skills of professionals, youth, and families. His seminars on increasing performance, motivation, and engagement are in demand and life-changing. Devon’s signature talk “The Most Important Question A Father Can Ask Himself” has gained national recognition.

We knew he was the right person to help us with the Leadership Academy. In our first phone call, he told us he was inspired by Camp Highlight’s work with LGBTQ families and had many ideas on to fuse his expertise with ours to nurture our young people! We are so excited about what the future holds in store for our collaboration with Devon. The Camp Highlight Leadership Academy is sure to be a hit with such talent aboard!
